Summary:
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of our production facilities. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and leading a team of skilled technicians.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work with diverse machines and equipment, such as hand and power tools, and drill presses saws in carrying out maintenance and repair tasks.
- General housekeeping of maintenance/spare parts/equipment areas
- Ensure spare parts/components are received and stored in an efficient and economical manner, and maintain required records in conformance with company policy
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of plastic rotational molding machines and associated equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they impact production.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery.
- Create and maintain a schedule for routine maintenance tasks.
- Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with procurement to source and acquire necessary parts and equipment.
- Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery/equipment to diagnose malfunctions
- Work scheduled overtime as required – projects, special tasks as assigned
- Coordination and communication with other departments and personnel as required
- Be compliant with safety standards in accordance with company policy
- Respond to all inter-company correspondence as required
- Ability to be a leader and create a team environment with team members
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent Communication/Interpersonal Skills (Verbal & Written)
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
- Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Strong ability to work alone or with little supervision
- Ability to determine causes of errors and be able to resolve them
Physical Requirements:
Position includes, walking, standing, lifting to 50lbs and working in a production setting.
